Conflicts are a natural part of professional and business interactions. The more corporate professionals learn about conflict, the greater the chance of learning from them, reducing unnecessary ones within their organizations, and managing future ones with more confidence. Since we believe in SIBLINE in the important to have people who understand conflicts and know how to resolve them especially in today's market more than ever, we organized with the Specialist in conflict Management Mr. Armen Balian - LCRN three days’ workshop to train our people the way of being able to identify and handle conflicts sensibly, fairly, and efficiently.

Among the various social responsibilities and initiatives, we had the pleasure during the previous semester, to welcome at SIBLINE The Civil Engineering students from American University of Beirut and the Mechanical & Civil Engineering students from Phoenicia University – Zahrani. During their visits we introduced them to: - All Sibline’s products and its manufacturer processes. - Safety and environmental awareness sessions. - A tour inside the plant to learn more about the production stages and gave the students a realistic view at the factory. Towards the end of the visits, we invited each group to plant a tree in Sibline’s garden because we believe in the importance of preserving and protecting our environment.

SIBLINE has designed a “Reward & Recognition” program to highlight employees’ achievements and those who have helped to save the company substantial amounts of money through their bright and innovative ideas, for a new initiative or solution to a workplace challenge. This year the “Bright Idea Award" recognizes “YOUSSEF ALBALTAJI” who created an innovative idea that has been successfully implemented for new solution in the controlling recirculating the Fan Vibration by Improving working conditions, increasing efficiencies, boosting workplace productivity, and saving time and money. Congratulations YOUSSEF for your diligent work and commitment, you are a great example to others.

“Who said Hazards and Risks are only at site? Hazards and Risks in fact are all around us wherever we are. Sibline concluded Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment “HIRA” training for all the administrative staff at all plants Cement, Concrete & Building Materials. 3 sessions full of information, exercises, and interactive sharing of experiences. It is not because we like to give trainings, it is just because we care for the safety of all our employees equally wherever they are in offices or at site.”

In SIBLINE we do believe that “Good Housekeeping” is the first principle of “SAFETY”. On May 21st, Sibline organized “SIBLINE IN COLORS”; a day where all employees met together in the plant for cleaning, painting, and having fun. Positive vibes in the plant were remarkable, teamwork shown at its best, smiles were on all faces and the result was outstanding.

After reading the book “Mysteries of Transformation”, Sibline employees held a discussion session with the author Mr. Imad Abou Khalil to reflect their perspective and learnt lessons. Mr. Imad shared that, it’s very refreshing and healthy to hear different perspectives and interpretations about the ideas in the book, especially when it comes to the hidden mysteries and symbols he used. It was a great experience to cooperate with Mr. Imad and we appreciate all the information and time he presented to SIBLINE.

We had the pleasure to participate in the event USJ Connect 2022: Companies on Campus organized by the Career and Placement Office of Saint Joseph University, this participation comes from our believe that we should play a role in giving hope and supporting our youth.

To bring joy to the hearts of children and drawing smiles on their faces during the Holy month of Ramadan and as part of its social responsibility, SIBLINE Cement Company invited a group of children from the Social Welfare Institution - Islamic Orphanage – Freisin, ketermaya, to an Iftar at La Salle Restaurant Saida. After the Iftar they had a great and entertaining time at the playing area of the restaurant. At the end, SIBLINE presented Eid gifts to all the children and wished them a blessed Fitr.

Safety Month video for 2022

April the “Safety Month” is here, and activities are going on weekly at SIBLINE. Here we go with a firefighting training presented by the Lebanese Civil Defense.

And the celebrations continue for the women in SIBLINE, special “Women Safety Walks” were arranged for the women in SIBLINE during March. Keep safety circulating with positivity!

Small actions can have a big impact, on the 8th of March, we invited SIBLINE women to celebrate the International Women’s day and to talk about their thoughts and experiences with regards to attitudes towards women in SIBLINE and beyond, in addition to the role of SIBLINE women in the success of the company.

On the occasion of the National Tree Day and as part of the rehabilitation plan that had started years ago and the social & environmental responsibility, SIBLINE employees planted over a thousand of trees in the quarry of the factory on Dec 3rd, 2021. During this event our CEO Eng. Talaat EL Lahham declared that SIBLINE continues its previous environmental and agricultural project and will carry on planting thousands of different types of trees more in order to preserve and protect the environment. The mayor of Sibline municipality Mr. Mohamad Youness thanked SIBLINE company and its employees for their efforts and mentioned that this project is integrated with the municipality’s vision for the community. Mr. Youness stressed the great interest in the project tree-planting campaign and the continuous cooperation between the company and the municipality to reach a cleaner environment and beautiful nature.

Towards the end of the visit, we invited them to plant a tree in Sibline’s garden because we believe in the importance of preserving and protecting our environment.

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day and for raising awareness and health education, Sibline in cooperation with MUMC - Diabetes Center organized a Diabetes healthy day, included sessions on risks, ways of prevention and treatment, presented to employee’s diabetic patients and employees at risk. In addition, we provided diabetes tests and body composition analyzes and offered membership cards to diabetics to benefit from the services of MUMC center.

We focused at SIBLINE during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month on ways to raise awareness, educate and support our people, and encourage positivity to highlight this important cause. In cooperation with the hospitals in the region Sibline Governmental Hospital and Ain Wzein Medical Village we offered special prices for the mammography for Sibline employees and their families to encourage everyone to have mammograms. Early detection saves lives.

Sibline Company organized a trip on Sunday, October 10, 2021, to Chouf Cedar Reserve, in which the employees participated with their families. During the visit, they walked inside the Barouk Cedar Reserve and planted cedar under the name of the company. Then the employees participated with the farmers at Nabeh Al Safa in picking and tasting the apples to celebrate the National Day of the Lebanese apple on October 5. This trip comes as part of the company's endeavor to strengthen and reinforce social communication between the employees and its belief in supporting the local community through social activities that positively affect everyone. As part of the initiatives launched during the Safety Month in Sibline, was the Global Safety Objective. A topic with 4 main elements that are taken into consideration for the eligibility of the safety objective for our employees. Risk perception training was one of the elements besides the zero fatalities, number of serious accidents and number of accidents. Therefore, we started a series of training sessions with Mr. Marc Zeinoun from Management Mix for our Managers and Head of Units, to cover the aspects of risk perception.

General safety is one of the Top Priorities at Sibline. Throughout all the crises we are passing through in Lebanon, from the Covid 19 to the financial crises and the daily challenge; our employees’ Mental Health & Safety had been granted higher attention. In collaboration with the International Association for Human Values, Sibline organized several Mindfulness & Stress Relieving training sessions. These trainings had helped our employees to be more relaxed, have more clarity in the mind to take healthier decisions and gain tools to relief from stress rather than transforming it to the rest of the team. We believe that our employees wellbeing is very important, and we are committed to enhance all the aspects of their Health & Safety. Several studies have proven the effectiveness of the vaccine against corona virus, And since the vaccine helps in saving lives and mitigating the spread of the epidemic, And as a sense of responsibility towards its employees and their families, SIBLINE Company, in cooperation and coordination with the Association of the Lebanese Industrialists, purchased the Pfizer vaccines for the employees and their families. The vaccination process for the first dose took place during July 2021 at Ain W Zein Medical Village. Preventive measures remain necessary to ensure the health and safety of everyone, hoping that this epidemic will be under control soon.

SIBLINE recognized and thanked safety leaders employees who are spreading positive safety acts.

On June 2021 All n-2 team were briefed about 2025 strategy and the way forward. The meeting tackled our 2025 ambition elements, sweet spot, projects, challenges and the way forward. Global Safety objectives was discussed including the STOP/GO card. “A vision without a strategy remains an illusion”

SIBLINE celebrated in April the Safety Month. We developed actions to bring Safety into our daily life. Here we show some of the events and activities that took place during the month of Safety.

SIBLINE gives special attention to green spaces, starting 2002 our strategy was to plant different kind of trees (Olives, pins, citrus…) within the factory and its surroundings. After some years of caring and follow up, this year as part of SIBLINE CSR initiatives and to enhance the collaboration value, we harvested the olives, we pressed them and distributed the olive oil obtained in small bottles to all departments within the factory.

Sibline celebrates Eid Al-Adha with the elderly at Dar Al-Ataa - Jiyeh. The elderly, who means a lot to us, need care and love, and being with them on Adha Eid is a sincere expression of our love and our responsibility towards them. In the spirit of Eid al-Adha and as part of SIBLINE ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility program, we organized a celebration day at Dar Al-Ata Elderly - Jiyeh - that was attended by twenty elderly women in the presence of the Dar’s employees and Sibline’s employees. The celebration included a lot of activities, music and entertainment to bring joy to the hearts of the elderly at Dar Al-Ata. In addition, they participated in planting trees inside the campus. At the end simple gifts and roses were distributed to them and everybody joined the luncheon.

The National Beach Cleanup Campaign organized by the Ministry of Environment on Sunday 9th of June 2019. Sibline is proud to be part of this campaign to save the face and convey a cleaner image of Lebanon and giving the best image about SIBLINE. 100 employees from Sibline with their families participated on June 9th to clean the Rmeileh- Shouf beach and spread the word about Sibline’s cause. As Lebanese citizens Sibline’s employees are committed to contribute at all environmental activities to ensure a clean environment for them and for the future generations.

As part of SIBLINE’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility program and initiatives, 200 students from the schools of the region surrounding the factory of SIBLINE were invited to spend our event: “Green is a Fun Day”, on May 3rd.2019. The day was full of fun and environmental awareness activities where students and teachers enjoyed competitions, environmental games, planting trees, innovative technology for waste treatment, music entertainment, Science show, and much more. At the end of the day, prizes were distributed to all participants. Thanks to all who was part of this successful event, “G” NGO Association, Enjoy Group, Douda Vermiculture Solution, High Modern School, Hasrout School, Global International School, Grand Lycee, Lycee Descartes.

SIBLINE celebrated the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 28 April, in a week full of activities and training to their employees and contractors for the purpose of increasing their awareness on health and safety. This year we have decided to work on improving the habits of our Staff, Contractors and Service Providers in a Safety week that started with a series of presentations about Safety by Mr. Talaat El Lahham CEO of Sibline, Dr. Fouad Jaafar Quality & Compliance Manager at Sibline, Dr. Imad Hajj Chehadeh from IRI “Industrial Research Institute”, Mrs. Paula Hamaty Yammouni from BV “Bureau Veritas”, Mr. Mohamad Shamas from Libnor, , Mr. Amer Hmadeh from Sibline Quality & Safety Compliance Unit, Mrs. Diana Fayad from Sibline Corporate Communication Department. Trainings and drills were presented by Apave, Lebanese Red Cross, Lebanese Civil Defense, YASA for Road Safety and Bureau Veritas. Exhibitors of Safety equipment main suppliers of Sibline displayed their goods to be examined by all attendees and employees, EM Uniform and Safety Equipment, S.I.S Safety & Uniforms s.a.l and Azar Fire Protection s.a.l At the end of the event, SIBLINE’s CEO presented trophies to the employees that are since 30 years and beyond in the company with Zero accident and for all the parties participated in Sibline Successful Safety week.
